Arrows pointing up the page...an indicator of “better than benchmark” performance in a particular area. These lengthy reports were routinely hand-delivered by our district rep.  I learned to scan them for a quick sense of where my team excelled and where there was room for improvement.

The visual was powerful and tangible. 
No longer was the idea of an action plan overwhelming. The framework was right in front of me.

The ability to motivate and drive performance is the most crucial task of middle managers.
Spending many years in that role, I know the difficulty of such a challenge. The formation of uparrows was inspired by my insight and desire to share my knowledge and experiences. Having managed hundreds of individuals and dozens of teams I know first hand not only the pitfalls, but also the rewards.
